Post Why Peace with Turkey will Destroy Greece Reply with quote

The Greek media has erupted with many Greeks in important positions calling for peace with Turkey. Exhoroitis, a Greek tank, gave us an analysis of his views which are good but are one sided in the objective of flattering the Turks and making Greeks believe that our hopes of expanding territories are hopeless.

He uses this to justify peace with Turkey proclaiming that it is impossible for both nations to invade one another and take each others resources. He takes no account of the long run and mentions no possibility of trade rental agreements with Israel or Italy or any unified attacks on Turkey with Bulgaria. The objective of his article is to persuade both sides to generate peace but what are the costs of peace?

I will state them in this article...

Players interests

Many Greek players joined the game with the belief and promise that Greece was going to became a glorious empire fighting and invading the Turks and the Skopians. Their interest to this game and our main weapon to advertise for baby boom is war with Turkey. If we are to make peace with Turkey, many players will lose interest and quit. They will have little incentive to play. Our baby boom will die and our country will became weaker and less active, tax profits will decline. Is this worth making peace with Turkey? I think not as everyone keeps forgetting this is a game and the purpose is to win.

Unity

Through out History, unity is sealed through scape goats and common enemies. Our common enemy is Turkey and despite all our ideological differences, our unity and our ingenuity to protect Hellas has brought us victory. I remember the dark ages when Greece was one region, Thrace filled with groups all competing for power. If we make peace with Turkey we will lose the common enemy and it will just became Phoenix and us helping Eden etc... People will just get bored and will attempt to seize power for themselves. This will create factionalism which will divide the country and create internal division's which could lead to our downfall as Greeks will resent one another and military coordination will collapse. Already there is division amongst Greeks over peace with Turkey, imagine the future with impeachments and parties being at war with one another. This will destroy Greece altogether.

Turkey

I distrust Turkey (especially after the many multi's found there and their "great" invasion of Cyprus) and see this only as an opportunity for Turkey to reform their army and organise themselves as at the moment they lack many factors that make the Greek army (or should I say tanks) great. However, as Exohourtis said, they have massive potential in tanking and giving them peace will allow them to discover this potential faster and use it against our allies and eventually us. They will probably seek expansion else were...

Conclusion

Peace will make:

1)Greece will lose players (as they will lose purpose to play) thusly also killing it's potential baby boom

2)It will turn Greeks against one another as they will all seek independent interests and power to fur fill their dreams

3) It will allow Turkey an opportunity to strengthen itself, recover and possibly strike us in the future during disarray

4) Allow Turkey to provide more aid against our allies and perhaps even turn the tide

Unless this is some kind of a plan to sneakily change our common enemies to FYROV and take over their cattle resources, I see this peace as a poison that will eventual suffocate Greece through the reasons above if accepted...
